2020 Ford Explorer
March 03 2020, Morand Ford
Unveiled just under a year ago, the Ford Explorer has been completely redesigned and offers its future owner more space, more technology, better engines and an even sportier and elegant design. It also comes with new versions including a high-performance model and a hybrid. The Explorer line has never been so complete and there has never been so many options for buyers looking for space and versatility.
New Architecture for the 2020 Ford Explorer
The 2020 Ford Explorer offers a whole new architecture that is both lighter and more dynamic on the road. The architecture is RWD-focused which gives the Explorer sportier handling despite its larger dimensions. In addition, under the hood, a new 3.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine develops more power than any Explorer engine to date.
This engine develops 365 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, more than the vast majority of mid-size SUVs. It is also possible to get a 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine developing 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque offered as standard, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The two new versions of the Explorer, the sports model ST and the hybrid model, offer respectively 400 horsepower and 318 horsepower engines. The hybrid engine also achieves an average fuel consumption rating of less than 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres.
For a three-row SUV that offers more than 2,000 litres of interior space, that's pretty impressive. Regardless of the engine, you can tow more than 5,000 lbs.
The interior of the new Explorer is not only spacious, it is also modern and elegant. A 10-inch central screen allows you to control all of the vehicle's functions while connectivity and security technologies abound. Come discover the new 2020 Ford Explorer today!
